Unsuccessful exams (credits) may be retaken once within the first 2 weeks of the new semester and, if the exam period has been extended, within 2 weeks of the expiration of the extended term. Failure to pass the exam (ECTS credit) is a debt.

The retake schedule for study courses is published in the Timetables section of the Faculty website. For exams failed by only 1–3 students, please arrange the retakes with the lecturers individually.

If a student fails to retake the course unit (module) exam (i.e. receives a grade lower than 5 points out of 10), a debt is recorded, which can be eliminated in the following cases:

  • repeating the course unit (module) – In order to retake a course (module), the student must submit a request for permission to retake the course (module) via VUSIS no later than 14 calendar days before the beginning of the semester in which the course (module) is offered.
  • by retraining the course unit (module) externally after self-repetition – In order to retake a course (module) externally after independent repetition, the student must submit a request via VUSIS for permission to retake the course (module) externally no later than by the end of the first month of the semester in which the external retake after independent repetition is to be carried out.

It is important to note that if the student was not allowed to take the course exam, the course debt cannot be cleared through external retake. In such a case, the debt can only be cleared by repeating the course or, with the approval of the Study Programme Committee, by replacing it with another course. The exam is taken during the main examination session, and any retake is conducted during the retake session.

When a student repeats a course unit (module), retakes the course unit (module) for the first time externally after independent repetition or replaces the course unit (module) with another course unit (module), and fails the course unit (module) and then fails and retakes, academic debt is recorded, which is eliminated by analogous methods of debt elimination.
