On August 26, the Research Council of Lithuania (RCL) held the closing conference of its student summer research internship program, "Summer of Science with RCL." We are delighted to announce that VU FCHG students received awards at this conference.

Dovilė Škarnulytė received the award for best poster presentation. Her project, titled "Study of the Structural Stability of Zinc Hexacyanoferrate Cathode in Zinc-Ion Batteries," was supervised by Dr. Jurgis Pilipavičius. The project was carried out at VU FCHG's partner institution, the Center for Physical Sciences and Technology (FTMC).

Gustė Gečaitė was awarded for the best and most compelling presentation at the conference. Her project, titled "Study of Water Temperature Extremes (Heat Waves) in Baltic Sea Lagoons, 1980–2025," was supervised by Prof. Donatas Pupienis.
