The 14th Young Scientists Conference "Interdisciplinary Research in Physical and Technological Sciences" has taken place. We are delighted that Jonas Žurauskas, a doctoral student at our faculty, was recognized as the best presenter and was awarded the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences prize along with an Novian and VITP incentive scholarship of €300!

J. Žurauskas presented his research entitled "A General Photoredox C-H Arene Functionalization towards Substituted Methyls" – a study introducing a visible-light photoredox catalysis-based approach to directly modify C–H bonds in arenes, transforming simple molecules into valuable chemical compounds. This method promises a significant advance in the development of new pharmaceuticals and advanced materials.
Supervisor – Prof. Dr. Edvinas Orentas.

We congratulate J. Žurauskas and look forward to his future discoveries!
