On May 5th, Prof. Malgorzata Makowska-Janusik will visit the Faculty of Chemistry and Geosciences at Vilnius University and deliver a lecture titled “Structural and Electronic Properties of Nanostructures – Cluster Model.”
Professor Małgorzata Makowska-Janusik has been working at Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa (Poland) since 1993. She has also worked at the University of Maine in Le Mans (France) and at the National Hellenic Research Foundation in Athens (Greece). She combines her research activities with teaching as an academic lecturer, as well as with administrative responsibilities. Among other positions, she served as the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology at Jan Długosz University, and she currently heads the Department of Photoinduced Phenomena.
She has supervised five PhD dissertations in the field of physical sciences and has led several research projects, including those funded by the National Science Centre in Poland. She has also served as an expert and evaluator of numerous research proposals at the European Union level. She is the author of over 120 scientific publications, four book chapters, and one monograph. Her research focuses on developing methodologies for predicting the electronic properties of nanostructures, hybrid systems, and composite materials using computational modeling and quantum chemistry tools
We invite the faculty community and guests to attend the professor’s lecture. It will take place on May 5th at 1:00 PM, Room 125 of the Institute of Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry and Geosciences.
*The lecture will be held in English.
